MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
Position Type: Permanent, Full Time

Reports to: Engineering Supervisor
Location: Mississauga

MISSION
Draft, design and develop product for manufacturing.
•Design electrical control panels and equipment from concept to completion
(Power, Protection & Control Equipment)
•Analysis/calculation of mechanical systems and structures
•Provide technical support to the internal team
•Develop cost estimates
•Develop overall concepts for a new product
•Interface between Engineering and production personnel
•Supervise and inspect the installation, modification, testing and operation of electrical systems and equipment

REQUIRED SKILLS

Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent field
Detailed mechanical drafting experience
Proficient in Solid Works and AutoCAD or 3D modelling software ie . ProEngineer
Experience in mechanical design related to electrical systems and equipment
Complete understanding of drafting standards and geometric tolerances and interpretations to various standards
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively
Understanding of CNC machine shop practices, processes, tooling and theory of machining an asset
Experience in design of high power AC & DC systems an asset
Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code & National Electrical Code as asset
Ability to travel without restrictions in Canada and the USA as needed
