Humble means you have something to brag about but you didn’t. Modest means you can get something but decide not to get it. In many cases, they mean the same thing.

差太远了。humble是说为人谦卑。modest说事物,比如说物价有个modest的上涨。

说的对。 humble=谦卑,一般用作指人的态度,in my humble opinion, 以鄙人拙见。modest = 谦虚,一般用作人的品性温和不吹牛,谦虚有礼。某某谦虚礼貌,应该用modest,不是humble
