  • 枫下家园 / 亲亲宝贝 / 政府7月发托儿津贴,每位6岁以下的小孩都可得到,但有些家庭需要申请
本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛The 2006 Federal Budget commits $3.7 billion over two years for the new $1,200 Universal Child Care Benefit. New benefit is available to all Canadian families, income is no longer a factor for new child tax credit. However, as many as 200,000 children under the age of six are unregistered with Canada Revenue Agency and as a result, their parents will not be receiving the new universal Child Care Benefit. Please read following article from CRA to find out whether you should apply to receive the $100 monthly payments:

    1. If I already receive the Canada Child Tax Benefit, do I need to apply for the Universal Child Care Benefit?
No. Under proposed legislation, the Universal Child Care Benefit (UCCB) will be using information from the Canada Child Tax Benefit database to issue UCCB payments.

    2. If I do not receive the Canada Child Tax Benefit, do I need to apply for the Universal Child Care Benefit?
If you do not currently receive the Canada Child Tax Benefit (CCTB), perhaps because your family income is too high, but have previously applied, you will not be required to re-apply in order to receive the proposed Universal Child Care Benefit (UCCB). However, if you have never applied for the CCTB and you wish to receive the UCCB, please complete the Canada Child Tax Benefit application form.

Please notice the payment of $100 a month per eligible child will be taxable in the hands of the parent with the lower income.

    • Do we need to pay income tax for this regardless your income? Thanks
      • Yes.
        • Thanks
    • Some questions ...
My first child became 6 in June, is she still qualified to receive the grant, even if it is just one hundred? My second child never received CCTB but I think I did apply for her because I believe the tax software that I use every year ( online version of QuickTax ) always applies CCTB for me regardless of qualification. So how do I know I need to apply for UCCB? And most important of all, when will I get the money? :-)
      • Suggestion
        1. I'm sorry that You couldn't get your first child's UCCB.
        2. Suggest you fill the the Canada Child Tax Benefit Application form again to have the UCCB direct deposited in your bank account. You can also access your UCCB payment information through your CRA Account. http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/eservices/tax/individuals/myaccount/register-e.html
