For those of you who want to get grossed out....have a look at the attached.
    -Elisa

    Dear Sir/Madam:
My name is Hank Luo, and I am having a very special situation here,
I think maybe you can help me out. Here is what happened:
I bought a fish from 'BIG LAND' supermarket located at Kennedy Rd.
and Finch Ave. 'Big Land' is one of the major grocery store in chinese
community, they have several locations in Toronto, Richmond Hill and
Scarborough. Anyhow, I spent $9.48 for this fish at their Scarborogh
location yesterday, and I put it into the refrigerator for next day use.
This morning when I took it out from the freg., a lot of worms came out from
it, at least five of them, and they still alive, you can easily find them
from the pictures I attached with this Email. So, my wife and I decided to
take it back to 'Big Land' and get refund. When I got there, the store
manager met me at office beside the cashier. I told him I found the worms in
the fish body. The first response of this manager is "Is it a 'Ma You'?",
'Ma You' is what chinese call this kind fish). I said "Yes, it is a 'Ma
You'", and then guess what he said, He said worms in this kind fish was
normal. I said you should tell me this before you selling this to me, and
he just repeated that the worms in the fish was normal. And became very
frustrated on me. Then I asked him to give my money back, he refused and
said I could only exchange other merchandises, this is the store policy.
Then I told him I didn't want to buy anything from this store, I lost the
confidence with them, just wanted my oney back and I said if I couldn't get
my money back, I will call the media reporter here. And then he was rude to
me 'No matter who you call, you will not get your money back, this is store
policy...' So, I guess I couldn't get my money back anyhow. then I took the
fish and was going to leave the store. And then the manager threaten
me:'If you get out of this door, you will not be able to exchange anything
even a penny' Well, 10 bucks to me is really nothing, but the attitude of
the store manager is making me very mad.
I have bought a lot of seafood from 'Big Land' in the past couple of
years, I don't know how many bugs I already ate into my body, and this
makes me and my family feel very sick... And I believe that lot of chinese
customers still trust 'Big Land', while the store is keep cheating them...
They know there are worms in the fish, but they hide the truth from the
consumers. We should take action to protect our health. Thank you in
    advance for your legal assistance.
    Sincerely,
    Hank Luo
Video tape is available showing the worms are alive.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net

      Dear Mr. Luo:

This is not an isolated incident. It happened among other stores as well. I
      understand your anger and frustration.

Legally, the store is liable to meet the standard established by the
government, particularly for the food stores and restaurants. You probably
have seen government's effort on inspections in the summer this year.
Ethnically, the store shouldn't sale rotten food to consumers. You have
rights to file complain, to submit report, or to sue.

To cut the loss, you could accept the store's policy to exchange or to get
      credit for other purchases.

My suggestion to public is "inspecting the food carefully before you buy
it". If you have any doubt, don't buy it and go to other stores. Your health
is ultimate priority than anything else.

P.S. Don't feel bad too long. It's not worthy it after all.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
