Never thought Expertune is/was a classical guitar fan ...

I used to play a lot in senior high school. I was able to play a lot of famous piece at that time, but now I can't even finish even a very simple one. At that time sheet music was the hardest to find.
Anyway, I collected a lot of classical guitar mp3's more than a year ago when napster was still usable. If you want I can share with you.
That would be great!thank you!could you pls set up a ftp site?:-)是的,那个时候谱子太难找,有些人还藏着不给.靠! 我收集了很多,复印了很多,包括一些效果其差的录音带,这次过来前才忍痛扔了,有的都不能放了.怎么样?咱们也切磋一下?

No problem. Well the only problem is you are in Toronto and I'm in Vancouver. I'll setup a web site instead of ftp (I don't really like ftp), and probably a streaming server if I have time.

Oh :-( well, I wish you will make it soon. :-) In fact, I also collected some mp3, and MIDI.

Actually, I can find most of them, but the only problem is they are in tab format (to aviod copyright infringement?).

Me too! But at least they are there if you can't find sheet music for a particular one.

You know what, after I came here, I found the exact CDs that I used to have on tape that got copied over and over -- how sweet! Among them is a duet elbum by John Williams and Julian Bream.

Also, in the first year after I came here (some time in early 97), Parkening held a concert in UBC. It was really a pitty that at that time, I didn't have a job and have no money, no car to go to the concert.
月光 was the brand made by Wei Ke more than 15 years ago, not by Chen Zhi. I think it was still available about 10 years ago before I lost contact with Wei Ke.

But I don't know what happened to 月光 -- it seems that Wei Ke transfered to brand to some other guy.
No, his real name is Wei4 Ke4 Cheng2 (sorry no Chinese input at work). I don't think many people know him, but those playing classical guitar know him very well.

The guitar he made -- 月光 brand -- was the best classical guitar made by mainland Chinese at that time, in my opinion.
Like I said, a lot of people didn't know him. But at that time, he assembled a sheet music called "the 10 famous piece for classical guitar" or something.

I knew him just because I was lucky enough to be his student :-)
He was from Beijing. At that time he was about the same age as I am now.

Because of him, I was able to go to concerts by some foreign guitarest invited at that time. One of them is Chris Ashby (maybe you never heard of him), and a cuban guy also played very good.
hehe, I know Ashby, I have his three books (not formally, but published by cheng zhi) right? He is a Doctor. :-) and a big guy whose name is 居梅. right? hehe... I was a crazy fan at that time.

Shake hands! So nice to find a hardcore fan! You got 3 book? I only got 2 ... Anyway, I think the estudio from Segovia one is extremely good.

BTW, did you go to the course held by Ashby? I did a performance on the last day with another guy ...
no, I had no chance. :-) 他指点一下进步蛮大吧?

No I wasn't among those who received his instruction. But it did help a lot from listening to others being instructed. The last day was a special day that players from China got a chance to perform.

I remember that I attended the course by escaping classes in the afternoon. And that was in the 3rd year in my senior high!

I was a crazy fan too -- hard to find one day that I didn't touch guitar in all of my senior high school years ...
