For those that are comfortable rolling the dice, Flair Air is showing cheap nonstop flights from Vancouver to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico starting in late 2022 and into winter 2023.
Prices from Vancouver start at $198 roundtrip (base fare only). The realistic price is about $318 roundtrip with a piece of carry-on luggage, or $358 roundtrip with a piece of checked luggage.
For comparison, WestJet is the next cheapest airline with nonstop flights from Vancouver to Puerto Vallarta and their flights are currently a minimum of $1000 roundtrip.
Booking with Flair comes with risk. They've been known to drop routes without warning. If a flight is cancelled or delayed they usually don't have an alternative way of getting you to your destination (many routes only have flights 2-3 times a week). This tends to become a larger risk during winter when weather can affect the operations of all airlines.
