  • 枫下茶话 / 社会 / DO NOT use the long-distance service of HongKong Telecom (HKT) due to its discriminative rules against new comers!!!
According to HKT's business rules, if you are a new comer without any credit information, they won't accept your application unless you pay credit deposition. This is a very serious discrimination to newcomers.

Please remind your friends that DON'T choose HKT as long-distance carrier because it doesn't respect us newcomers from China. They deserve the loss of customers and business from us new Chinese.

If you have time, please express your opinion to HKT at: 416-860-1828. Just tell them "your rules are rediculous!"
    • Hmm, interesting! Is that means the banks and Bell Telecom also has this problem? The banks never give new comers credit card and Bell ask new comers 200.00 for deposit!!! :-) :-) :-)
    • I doubt if this is a discrimination policy or a self-protective policy. Agree with Flying_Snow.
      • I believe it's discrimination 'coz my first long-distance carrier asked nothing from me. btw, many Chinese companies have similar rules as HKT.
        • I registered with HKT a few weeks after I landed in Canada. They did not ask me for proof of credit. Is it because of Li Ze Kai, who has bought HKT and is poorer than before?
I believe they must have their reasons.
